Gabe Camarillo specializes in campaign finance compliance, election law litigation, lobbying disclosure and governmental ethics.

Mr. Camarillo joined the firm as an associate in 2009, after working at the Sutton Law Firm in San Francisco, where he advised clients on campaign finance and lobbying law compliance and represented numerous candidates and ballot measure committees in election law litigation. He has extensive experience in counseling candidates, political committees and other organizations regarding compliance with campaign finance laws in various jurisdictions, including the Federal Election Campaign Act, the Internal Revenue Code, the California Political Reform Act and local ordinances throughout the State of California.

Mr. Camarillo has frequently represented political committees and organizations in litigation regarding campaign finance issues and ballot access laws. He has also drafted local initiatives, and advised ballot measure committees on the qualification of various initiatives and referenda.

Mr. Camarillo has extensive experience working in political campaigns, having managed a congressional campaign in California's Central Valley and having worked on voter protection issues for the Obama for President campaign in New Mexico in the fall of 2008. Mr. Camarillo also previously worked as a litigation associate for Akin Gump, LLP. He received his law degree from Stanford Law School in 2002 and received his undergraduate degree in Government from Georgetown University in 1998. He is a member of the State Bar of California and the State Bar of Texas, and he is admitted to practice before the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit and the United States District Court for the Northern District of California. He is also a member of the California Political Attorneys Association.

Mr. Camarillo is currently on an extended leave of absence, working for the Obama Administration in the Department of Defense.
