Julie Coren is a Political Accounts Supervisor at Kaufman Legal Group, where she manages client bank accounts and prepares campaign finance reports for state and local candidates and ballot measure committees. She also prepares and files major donor reports for the firm’s clients.
Julie began doing compliance work in the late 1980s as a staff member for then Assemblyman Tom Hayden. As a staff person for The Hayden Committee, she learned hands on, the art of campaign reporting as well as political fundraising and organizing. She served as Treasurer for Prop. 128 – Big Green, an environmental initiative put on the ballot in 1990 by a coalition of environmental organizations and Assemblyman Hayden.
Restless and curious, she returned to college, completed a Master’s Degree in English and began a bookkeeping business primarily serving small businesses and non-profit organizations. Drawing on her years of bookkeeping and campaign reporting experience, she returned to the world of compliance and is happy to be a part of the team at Kaufman Legal Group.
